Royal pain in the... (or, Shawn doesn't really have anything to say)

I wish I understood royalty a bit more. There are just so many things I don't get.

Like being King is top of the heap, right? Unless there's an Emperor, I guess. But there aren't any Emperors right now, so King is it...

Okay, say being King is tops. You're the head of a royal family in a small country called, for example Monaco. You're a Prince. Screw that, why not just be King? Isn't a prince just a baby King? Wouldn't you get sick of sitting at the kids' table at royal reunions? I mean, you're head of the country, who's going to say you aren't King?

What's the point of being a monarch if you don't get to do whatever you want?

Just wondering...

That's the beauty of being The Man as opposed to being the King. Everyone knows the King is the King, but the Man is behind the scenes, ruining good people's lives. If the King did something dumb like get drunk and pick up a prostitute, it would be on the front page of every newspaper. If the Man did the same, nobody would know. Plus, if a reporter or a policeman actually tried to expose him, they'd be out of work.

You're only a prince because your father, the king, is still living, right?

I say be the court jester or the harlot - you may never get to be king, but he'll always keep you around.

All I want to know is what's with the creepy new Burger King mascot? It's like a garden gnome on steroids.

For refernce, see "History of the World Part I"

"Its good to be the King."

Especailly in the old days when Kings were seen as the embodiment of the preferred God of the time and place.

Look out!!!

Shelly, its not that one has more power than the other, it depends on where the bloodline flows.

One is superuior to the other depending on who was coronated as the head of the state.

The Queen has more power than the Prince, and the Queen says "No!"
