Why?

Why does my head sweat when I eat spicey food? Mind you, I like it pretty hot...but why does it make my head sweat? Hmmm....

Hmmmm... well, if someone's head is sweating around here, it's usually directly related to the toque on his noggin. I suggest you consider sporting different head gear whilst eating the hot stuff.

(in case you didn't know, I believe "toques" are called "hats" or something crazy like that in the US)

Ah...you underestimate my knowledge of Canadian...I grew up with a toque and I even know serious old school tabogan...just like the big, crazy sled thing...that's way old skool...

My Mom is a Canuck from Montreal.

I still don't like bad beer though...

I'm just trying to figure out how hot peppers made you Asian . . .

I think they were Asian red peppers...

Who cares why? Do something about it. Wear a bandana. ;)

Alas...I am one of those who has no possibility of ever pulling off the bandana thing. There is no way I will ever look cool wearing one.

And don't get me wrong...I like breaking out in a sweat from hot food. I just don't know why it happens...

I like spicy, but not too spicy. I used to be a total spice wimp.

I do wonder about the sweating - maybe it has to do with endorphins kickin in? I like ZS's suggestion... or just ask for an extra napkin to dab your forehead and enjoy your meal...

Sweaty heads are hot ;)

Its the capsasin. A chemical in the peppers that triggers diaphoresis (sweating). :)

Thank the gods...now I can sleep. One of life's little mysteries handled. Now I want to know why it wouldn't make you sweat like normal though...

Little things eat at my brain.

I'm glad that you're out and about in blogland Sassy...tried to email you, but my email is stp (screwin' the pooch...) and I've been too lazy to get the settings back to where they should be...
