Snow day...

On days like this, it seems like a good idea to just drink some coffee. These are the kind of days that are best spent with a warm java and a good book. Reading and getting snowed in - sounds pretty good.

Sadly, I'm going to have to go out in it later this afternoon. I had a morning job, but it was thankfully moved to later in the day.

Funny thing is that a couple of days ago the temperature was up to nearly 60 degrees. It was warm and nice.

I should write down my predictions because I knew the temperature was going to plummet and it would start to snow in two days. Well, I was right about the cold and about six or eight hours off on the snow. Not bad, eh?

Anyway, it's still coming down outside. The world seems very quiet too. Not many cars out on the road, the plows aren't scraping by and the snow has been muffling most of the sound out there anyway. This is the best part of a good snowfall - the quiet that puts the world on pause for a little while.

*Clap* I love the mug picture!
*brings you some chai and a snowsuit*
Here I am complaining about it being 64 degrees outside. But I think I would mind the cold less if we had just a little bit of sparkly snow.

I love those quiet snow days! Wind ruins the whole effect.

M - Sparkly snow is pretty cool...but what a pain in the buttocks. I love chai, by the way. I should get one at Starbucks tomorrow.

Tmom - The quiet part is so nice. It's a muffled quiet too, not just a not very noisy quiet.

I love chai too. And it's one of the few things I'll have at a Starbuck's. See ... I hate coffee, but I love coffee shops. I love the smell, the ambiance, the jazz, the beatnik feel of them.

Oh how I miss the snow.

Hi Shawn! Long time no see. I have a lot of catching up to do.

Dbackdad - And don't forget my personal favorite...coffee shop girls! I would be lying if I didn't admit that.

Brooke - I would gladly ship you some of my snow. You can have as much as you want. I'll trade for some warm weather and sand.

Shawn,
Yep, definitely. I like to call them Alterna-chicks. A little bookish. A little Betty Pagish. Hubba-hubba.

Snow days would be much happier if I didn't have to actually go out into it and slip/slide my way to the train to get to work... if only everyone would just shovel their walks. Sigh.

MMM Chai. Dback, I'm with you on Starbucks. I like coffee, but I don't like their coffee. Hint - you can buy the Tazo Chai concentrate at Target now and make your own at home... Much better IMHO since I can make it much more spicy than they do. The way I order my Chai? Venti skim, no water, 10 pumps. YUM

I used to love the first few times it would snow in KY but then it would start to get on my nerves because people would freak out and not be able to drive worth anything!

I love it when it's so quiet you can hear the snow itself falling. That's the best.

I'd send you some Chai, but I have
a feeling the Starbucks cups wouldn't last long in the mail. ;)

I'm not slaggin' Starbucks chai, but really, you gotta try looseleaf chai someplace. You'll never go back to the powdered business.
