Don't bug me

I've been pretty good so far; I haven't uttered a peep about the Olympics. It's been a good games too.

There have been some excellent stories unfolding. Like the reigning gold medalist who fell near the start of the cross country ski race and scraped his way to the front again from dead last. C'mon, that's an Olympic moment. I love that stuff.

I've kept my Olympic fever in check for the first week. Tonight though...it's twirling girls on ice. All I can say is don't bug me. No really, call if you want but I won't be answering the phone.

I might like bobsled, downhill skiing, cross country and snowboarding, but I adore figure skating.

Last night, I watched the American duo take silver in ice dancing. It was a surprisingly good competition too. The new scoring system is doing wonders for ice dance anyway. I was too tired to really get into the pair competition last week, so I latched on to the ice dancing. I loved how honestly joyful the American team was. They were so happy to be there. And, they skated well too - not as good as their previous round (which they smoked), but pretty darn good.

Tonight is the start of the women's competition. I'll be tuned in and cheering for my favorite, Sasha Cohen. I'm hoping that she can get past being the queen of international silver and grab the gold. I've been cheering for her for a long time.

Mostly though, I'm just looking forward to being taken away for a little while. A few hours away from the real world...that's all I'm asking.

It was good last night . I got all teary eyed from the Canda Ice Hockey team.

Ice Dancing? I had no idea you were gay. (not that there's anything wrong with that...)

And you think you know someone... ;o)

I like decorating shows too...but I always hated the Golden Girls. So, that must make me bi or something...

And, what is Tongue Man doing in your mouth? It's like being on acid without having to take any acid.

Shhhhhhh, I'll tell you a secret, but you can't tell anyone, because it will ruin my rep, kk? I love figure skating, just absolutely adore it!! Keep it under your hat, right?!!

Wow... like being on acid without being on acid. That's, like, the best compliment EVER...

I never woulda pegged you for a figure skating fan. My mom used to watch it so I saw a few. My favorite moment will always be Viktor Petrenko (sp?) doing his "yo, yo homey" routine at some competition. He reminded me of Steve Martin and Dan Akroyd's Czech Brothers.

It's interesting, but it gets boring for me after a while. But I promise, I won't call you during the skating... ;)

OH! I LOVE ICE DANCING!

I've always been a fan of the pairs ice skating competition, but I've never, in my whole life, watched ice dancing. Until this past week. In all honesty, I began watching it because my boyfriend and his cousin were drooling over the American Ice Dancer, whose name I believe was Tanith. So I started watching too. And, by God, there are a lot of hot women in ice dancing! And it's so graceful. Even better than ice skating. But I still watch that.

I think I'm just a sucker for the glittery outfits and the questionable sexuality of the men.

Yeah...the U.S. ice dancer was a hottie for sure. It made ice dancing a lot nicer. I like the new scoring system they have too.

Last night was pretty good stuff. I like the short program night because you get to see all the skaters that don't usually get face time on television. And, once again, I've been reminded how many totally gorgeous girls there are in Europe.

One thing that's nice this Olympics is that the women's skating isn't just a bunch of little girls that can jump. There's a lot more mature and artistic group at the top. That's a lot nicer than just a bunch of jumping with music in the background.

Did I mention how annoyed I am that the Olypics are pre-empting Coronation Street on Sundays here in Canada?

:)

I figured out how to add links to my blog...

I am so great. I am so great. Everybody loves me. I am so great

Don't mind me. Just celebrating a little as I have finally joined the 21st century.

Wendy - Too bad about Coronation Street... It had to be done though. Sit back and revel in the syrupy goodness that is the Olympics.

Bits - Wow...I'm so proud of you! Isn't it fun to be all hip and cool?

Nice HNT pic too, by the way.

Did you know that we are going to create some sort of international 'incident' in order to divert attention away from the fact that our male hockey team really sucked ass and did not win the gold?

All ten hockey fans here in the U.S. were sorely disappointed by our team's lame showing too. We sucked even harder than the Canadians...jeez.

At least we rocked (pun intended) the curling ice.
