ITunes...you're killin' me

Been loading up the iPod, who is now known as Boris the Black (Boris to his friends). It's been both fun and frustratingly slow.

ITunes is actually a pretty tight little program that is much better a year and a half after I first tried it. So, no complaints there. It's just a bit of process since I've been combining ripping some unripped CDs and transferring tunes to a new directory and the iPod.

The big problem is the temptation of the at your fingertips iTunes Music Store. This could cost me serious coin since it's been a long time since I've really bought much music.

Here's a look at what's been tapping my wallet in the last couple of weeks: Arctic Monkeys, Belle and Sebastian, The Buzzcocks, Acid House Kings, Nouvelle Vague (thanks for that one Eileen...I blame you for this purchase...in a good way), Wilco, Hard-Fi, and Willie Nelson.

I think I need and intervention.

Atta boy Shawn. The first step is admitting you have a problem.

The second step is mailing Boris to Canada so that I might protect you from this addiction. (okay, that might not be the official first step. Just a thought.)

Hey, no need to thank me. I'm just doing my part...

Thank the gods that someone is willing to sacrifice themselves for my welfare. I would have done it earlier, but I always forget that you guys actually have mail service up there.

Nice new pic, by the way.

Very creative name, Shawn! Quite masculine.

Just a small point of clarification - It's no so much "mail" as it is dogsleds and huskies, but it gets the job done. I, for one, think Boris would feel right at home around here...

Tshsmom - It was nearly Ivan, but Boris it was. He seems okay with it. If I ever get a 60 gig one...he will likely be Peter the Great.

Bits -That's so awesome. Do they bring it right to your trapper cabin, or do you have to go into town? You guys are so cool up there. Any country with moose and Mounties has to be okay.

Shawn, I have never heard of any of those bands (except for Willie Nelson). What genre of music are they, or are they all different? Have you tried out a Canadian band called Arcade Fire?

Mostly, they're all alternative groups and a bit hard to describe.

I can't get enough of Acid House Kings, they're a fluffy Swedish band. The Buzzcocks were originally kind of punk, but now they're a lot more refined.

Boris eh? John spends lots on iTunes. ITunes giftcards are all he wants for gifts now, it's kinda boring in a way. It does have a way of gettin ya hooked though, huh?

It's just there...all the time...calling me, like a Siren luring me to my doom.

I'm telling you, try the library. There is some hip librarian here who keeps ordering all the indie rock hits (I just picked up the new Franz Ferdinand CD). You can import them into iTunes and then return them. It's sweet.

I'm pretty excited about the Arctic Monkeys album. I'm not sure they're the best thing ever, but their stuff sounds pretty good.

Finally, you should plan a trip to Cincy on the weekend of April 28 - Josh has promised to visit then.

I've never heard of any of them except for Willie, but then again I'm old. So glad you are enjoying yourself though. Probably should be looking for a program soon though. At least you realize you have a problem, and that is the first step!! LMAO
