Reader's Digest

My weekend? So glad you asked. Saw some basketball, had some St. Patty's Day fun, and hooked a turntable to my computer so I could put some old surf albums on my hard drive. Yup, it was pretty much on-the-edge excitement.

Current favorite quote from a cheesy movie on USA network:

"Where were all the hot 35 year old women when I was 16?"

"We were all 16 too..."

Obviously, it doesn't take much to make me happy.

That's a good line. Great Hoops this weekend.

Last night with the Pogues was awesome.

Exactly which surf albums?

PNYC - I'm guessing the Pogues would be good anytime. That's one of the benefits of living in New York, eh?

M - We'll, I'm glad you asked. First up was a compilation - 'Get a Board' - that included The Bel Airs, The Val Rays, The Surf Bunnies and some others. Then it was the 'Surfing South of the Border' by The Lively Ones on Del-Fi records. Still in the wings are The Challengers, The Ventures, Beach Boys, Jan and Dean and oh so much more surf-jam excitement. It's all about longboards and woodies here...

Did somebody say woodies???

Must of been the St. Paddy's day fun... I've never known basketball and albums to inspire wood...

Good point...basketball cheerleaders maybe, but not basketball.

Now, Canadian girls...they leave me dreaming about HNT and stuff.

And, by the way, the St. Paddy's Day hijinx was less than wood inspiring. Pretty funny stuff though, which is the next best thing, I think.

Jealous... I need to hook our turntable to the computer one of these days and get some of my old albums on MP3... just never get around to it. :/

Gotta love surf music. Esp when it's 30 degrees outside.
